In September 2020, Freudenberg Oil & Gas Technologies (FOGT) was awarded a subsea contract to supply flexible vertical tie-in equipment to Australian operator Santos.

The equipment is for use on the De-watering Manifold (DWM) on a new subsea infill well on the Bayu-Undan Phase 3C Project (BUIW-3C) in Australia.

“Our scope includes the supply of 12” Optima® Connectors with integrated Vertical Landing Systems (OVLS), insulated goosenecks and lower pup assemblies,” says Chris Lee, VP of FOGT’s Connectors business group. “We are also supplying a tool package including a seat cleaning & replacement tool, jack-up tool and debris caps.”

OVLS integrates 20+ years of offshore experience with zero failures, using our Vector Optima® Clamp Connector and FOGT patented Duoseal™ technology maximizing operational efficiency, load capacity, and provides dual-barrier sealing protection.

“This is our second phase at Bayu,” Chris continues. “We delivered several vertical tie-ins to this field in 2013 when it was operated by Conoco Philips. The performance of the Optima® Connector in the field led to its continued use as a preferred connector solution.”
