Freudenberg Oil & Gas Technologies recently achieved a 5% H2S rating on our 163 NBR elastomer used in our BOP pressure control products. The test was conducted at our Material Development and Product Testing Lab in Houston, TX.
Our 7-1/16’’ - 15,000 psi Type-U style blind ram packers, top seals, bonnet seals and connecting rod seals were immersed with a 5% H2S gas composition at 250 °F for 161 hours. The components were then removed and tested in a BOP at 250 °F and 15,000 psi for more than 10.5 hours in accordance with API 16A Fourth Edition Extreme High Temperature protocol and acceptance criteria.
